By Wild Kiwi Team published on 25 August 2017
With thriving music, art, culture, cuisine, and nightlife scenes to tempt you, let’s just say your evenings will never be dull on your New Zealand holidays!
1. Explore Auckland’s Night Markets
You’ll find night markets in six locations around the city, with a variety of stalls, live music and other entertainment to enjoy. Oh, and don’t forget to stop by one of the many food trucks for some tasty treats, you won’t regret it!
2. A Spot Of Stargazing
Auckland’s Stardome Observatory and Planetarium is open until late, and exploring the night sky of the southern hemisphere is always a magical experience.
3. Enjoy A Sunset Kayak Tour
As you’re crossing Waitemata harbour, (which translates delightfully as ‘sparkling waters’!) you might see some Little Blue Penguins as you make your way over to Rangitoto Island, a volcanic island. The view of the city lights twinkling on the journey back is the perfect end to an unforgettable evening.
4. Night Canyoning Adventures
If you’re still feeling full of energy after a jam-packed day, what better way than to abseil down a few waterfalls and climb through a few caves to round off the night? Seriously though, this experience is unforgettable, with glow-worms resembling constellations guiding your path.
5. Take In The Views From The Sky Tower
Watching the city light up from the observation platform of New Zealand’s tallest man-made building is pretty unmissable. Oh, and there’s also a revolving restaurant up there!
6. Visit A Haunted House
Because why wouldn’t you want to scare yourself silly? At Spookers, (very aptly named!), you can choose from a variety of creepy experiences, including the haunted house and the freaky forest. Expect spine-chilling sounds, very realistic props – oh, and watch out for the actors wandering around!
7. PAR-TAY
Well, when you’re in a city packed with bars, pubs, and clubs, you know you’re in for an epic night. We may have been known to bust a few moves on many an Auckland dancefloor, so if you’re looking for recommendations, we’ll hook you up!
